Lance Casper plays a 50 thousand dollar martin

guitar lessons

"I'm here to teach you how to play guitar from learning basic chords to more complex ones, and how scales become melodies within chord patterns, how to read and understand what is written and why. A basic technical platform is necessary to grow as a player, no matter whether it is voice or an instrument. However, I also strive to teach individuality in developing your own style of playing, rather than copying. Creative emotion is part of my theory of teaching and I strive to develop that with my students." – Lance, Old Man Music

writing a song on sheet music

song writing instruction

Got a song you want to work on? Or lyrics but no chords? Chords and no lyrics? Is your band ready to record but want to tighten up your tunes before paying high-cost studio time? Are you a young band ready to start playing out but want to run your music past a practiced ear?

If you don't know which way to turn, or if you've answered yes to any of these questions, click here to contact Old Man Music. He'll lend a practiced and discerning ear to you or your band and offer the benefit of over 40 years of performing and writing.

Peter, a 16-year-old guitar student, put together a chord progression under Lance's guidance from which they both developed a melody line. Lance helped Peter get an idea for the lyrics and Peter finalized the writing.
